- 1 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- ½ tsp cloves
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves

- 1 orange sliced
- 1 bottle full-bodied red wine, such as Syrah, Rioja, or Malbec
- 1 cup brandy
- ½ – ¾ cup sugar
- Ground nutmeg, garnish

Let your Instant Pot do a natural release.
Stir the mixture gently and then pour the mixture through a sieve.
Serve your mulled wine in mugs and garnish with a half slice of orange.
While not a traditional pressed apple cider, this quick concoction can fill the role quite well. Use this by itself or as an ingredient in a warm winter cocktail.
- 8 medium apples (Gala, Honeycrisp, Jazz)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cloves
- water to cover the fruit (6-8 cups of water)
Quarter the apples and put in the instant pot. Add the rest of the ingredients and cover with the water. You want the water to just cover the apples, so adjust the quantity accordingly. 4-6 cups should do it without any issues.
Set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 15 minutes and allow for a natural release.
Thoroughly mash the apples to release all the juices and strain the mixture with a sieve.
Serve warm or chilled.
